Our privileged environment situate
us right at the entrance of La Alpujarra. Its
primitive name was Al-buxarrat, due to the
first Arabian colonizers which means White
Mountains.
Whitewashed by the white hills of
Sierra Nevada, it strengthens to the sunny
beaches of the Mediterranean sea, encompassing
lots of towns therein.
The Alpujarras pertain
to two different provinces which are the Alpujarra
Granadina and the Almeriense. One of its divisions
is Alpujarra Alta, home to the towns settled
within the boundaries of the Natural Park of
Sierra Nevada where we are and the other is
Alpujarra Baja which encompasses those towns
settled on the slopes of the mountain and stretching
to the coast.
